Dave Palone’s surname will have raised a smile with anyone familiar with Polari. It meant woman in gay slang. And this version of TTTT makes me want to run back to the familiar safety of the b&w version with Bud Collyer.

I`m sorry, but I just don`t like this version of the show. It seems just too unpolished compared to the original version. And I don`t like the way Wally Bruner blurts out the occupations of some of the contestants, like the shaver lady. Once the panel figured out she had something to do with electric razors, Wally should have asked what she does with them instead of he himself saying that she repairs them because John Daly would have had the panel guess what she did with them also.

35 years ago, while sitting in my police academy class along with thirty other recruits…. Out of nowhere a person runs into our classroom, grabs something off of the instructors desk and immediately ran out. This all took under 10 seconds and it was over. We were advised by the instructor that what had transpired, was not an actual theft, but a test of our observation skills. We were then instructed to write down a detailed description of the “perpetrator” It was shocking to hear the 30 different descriptions that were being read out loud as the “perpetrator” stood in front of the class. The descriptions were so varied, it was scary. That day we all learned that eyewitness statements should be taken with a grain of salt. One thing I did observe over my law enforcement career, that a bad guy can point a gun at a victim and when asked to describe the suspect, it was always hit and miss. But ask them to describe the gun and they almost always gave a detailed, accurate description.
